Trasparenza, purezza, mistero e materictà… così il lavoro di Baiba Dzenite, artista del vetro incontrata nel 2022 quando Venus Dream era appunto solo un sogno, un’idea, un concetto e che oggi ritorna nelle pieghe dell’Æ-Journal in tutta la sua conturbante potenza. E bellezza.

Oggetti dalla superfici calme e dai nuclei magmatici, incapsulati nella trasparenza cristallina del vetro, spesso, pesante. Oggetti che esplodono di una duplice anima, delicata e potente allo stesso tempo, per una mostra che è metafora del tempo, del “qui e ora”, del flusso della vita che scorre incessante, mutevole, a tratti calma a tratti lavica. Esattamente come il vetro di Baiba.

Ispirata alla mitologia degli antichi romani, la “Venus with a pearl” (Venere con una perla) nasce quale rielaborazione della storia della dea del mare. Le sue qualità divine di amore puro, bellezza, desiderio e sensualità si manifestano sotto forma di perla di saggezza al cui centro spicca la vera espressione femminile. Adagiata su un fianco, asseconda il movimento.

 

 

Venus Dream è in mostra al Livani Glass Museum fino al 21 agosto 2023.

Ultima tappa di un lungo percorso che ha toccato l’ottava edizione dell’European Glass Festival e alla  “Vivid Gallery” (Breslavia, Polonia) e Riga a luglio 2023. Alcuni lavori sono stati esposti a “The Venice Glass Week 2022” e “Milano Vetro 2022”.

 

 

Baiba

Baiba Dzenite è un artista del vetro e fondatrice del brand BAIBA GLASS. Una visione contemporanea di un’opera senza tempo e di forme misteriose ispirate alla natura e incapsulate in strati di vetro trasparente. Baiba, l’artista, è specializzata in tecniche di colorazione e lavorazione del vetro a caldo, che evocano la percezione di “pittura nel vetro”.

Il lavoro di Baiba è un’ode alla maestria ed esperienza dei soffiatori di vetro, un’arte sempre  più rara e fragile.

Transparency, purity, mystery and materiality… thus the work of Baiba Dzenite, glass artist met in 2022 when Venus Dream was just a dream, an idea, a concept and which today returns in the folds of the Æ-Journal in all its intriguing power. And beauty.

Objects with calm surfaces and magmatic nuclei, encapsulated in the crystalline transparency of thick, heavy glass. Objects that explode with a dual soul, delicate and powerful at the same time, for an exhibition that is a metaphor for time, for the “here and now”, for the flow of life that flows incessantly, changing, sometimes calm, sometimes like lava. Just like Baiba’s glass.

Inspired by the mythology of the ancient Romans, the “Venus with a pearl” was born as a reworking of the story of the goddess of the sea. Her divine qualities of pure love, beauty, desire and sensuality are manifested in the form of a pearl of wisdom at the center of which the true feminine expression stands. Lying on her side, she follows the movement.

Venus Dream is on display at Livani Glass Museum until 21 August 2023

This is the last spot of a long path, from the 8th edition of the European Glass Festival and at the  “Vivid Gallery” in Breslavia, then Riga in July 2023. Some works have been exhibited at “The Venice Glass Week 2022” and “Milano Vetro 2022”.

 

Baiba

Baiba Dzenite is a glass artist and founder of the BAIBA GLASS brand. A contemporary vision of a timeless work of mysterious shapes inspired by nature and encapsulated in layers of transparent glass. Baiba, the artist, specializes in hot glass colouring and working techniques, which evoke the perception of “painting in glass”.

Baiba’s work is an ode to the skill and experience of glassblowers, an increasingly rare and fragile art.
