A post devoted to Naanstudio, firm held by Sabina Bonfanti, at this precise moment has a very simple but precise explanation, the launch of the new website of this architect sui generis born in Rome but transplanted to the far north-east by a lifetime.

Creative, maniacally in love with all things research and doing, the hallmark of Bonfanti’s work is “to be and stay” inside the projects. This does not only mean imagining them on paper, but it means creating them by starting from the material, giving it shape and thickness, inventing new dimensions and applications. Often they seem to be disorienting for an almost improper use of finishes and materials, for the apparent simplicity of the idea – apparent because it only came to her – for the elegance of execution that manages to balance different levels of language and creativity.

Here it comes that reams of paper become wallpaper that mimic the idea of an infinite waterfall, colored paper sheets are transformed into flowers for “mobile” made up of branches and string and even the simplest paper placemat becomes — thanks to her intervention — a small oddity for imaginary tables in exclusive contexts.

The project vibrates when you are inside the material. That’s why I do things

Entrusting the set up of an exhibition to Naanstudio means diving into the creative process, where not everything is simple, but the final result is always worth the trip. This was the case for the first edition of Light Blowing, for Ironically Iconic where a simple table became “the exaggeration of a hyperbole” [cit. Sabina Bonfanti] for the Atemporary Apartment, a divertissement, [ you find them all here ] and for the many private projects united by a common brief: enphasise the experience.

Tuning the different forms of creativity of a team is not easy.

But there is not only styling, props & Co. in Naanstudio’s practice.

Design, interior, branding, product – even an idea developed in our 4 hands as Valet –  find their own place where everything is connected and everything communicates. But that’s another story and you can browse it here: www.naanstudio.it
