Continuamo il nostro percorso attraverso la Trilogia della Mistica, a mio parere la più complessa e ricca fino ad ora, che racchiude Narcotico, Odor 93 e L’oblìo.

Parliamo a lungo specialmente di Narcotico, perché è il profumo, un insieme di odori, che rappresenta un passo importante nella mia vita e probabilmente anche in quella di Meo.

»Quando racconto la nostra storia e ogni profumo della nostra collezione, appena arrivo a Narcotico c’è sempre un momento di silenzio dentro di me, hai colto forse un nervo scoperto di questa storia, insieme a Notturno e Little song.
Narcotico è stato fondamentale, perchè come primo capitolo di una nuova trilogia è stato un lavoro molto profondo e molto difficile da comprendere e da portare alla luce.
La sua intensità lo racconta, le materie prime che ho scelto per questo lavoro raccontano le visioni mistiche non solo della nostra cultura religiosa ma le racchiude tutte, come una torre di babele degli odori sacri, è l’emozione viscerale del ritrovare le memorie sopite e più profonde del nostro vivere quotidiano. Un profumo nato dal mio amore per Pasolini e Antonello da Messina, dal mio ritorno a Palermo, nella mia Sicilia. Un profumo carico di continui contrasti, tra note molto dure e note più carezzevoli.

Dico sempre che sono i profumi, le materie prime, gli odori a trovare la mia strada, i viaggi mi aiutano a capire,

a volte ad osservare la materia prima nel suo »vivere«, nella sua reale natura, il viaggio è fondamento di questo cammino.«

Il lavoro di ricerca di Meo va oltre la semplice fragranza – è l’equilibrio perfetto tra poesia, studio apporfondito, materie prime di altissima qualità, massima professionalità e anima.
Tutto è curato nei minimi dettagli, come il packaging e il piccolo libricino che segretamente accompagna ogni creazione spiegandone la storia.

»Il progetto Meo Fusciuni è composto da due anime, la mia e quella di Federica Castellani, art director del progetto e curatrice di tutto quello che è estetica ed espressione visiva del nostro lavoro. Nel packaging tutto viene elaborato da lei, io nel frattempo lavoro alla fragranza e alla fine il binario si unisce. La scelta delle foto sulle confezioni, che spesso sono fatte proprio da Federica è importantissima, perchè racconta il concetto e la poetica del profumo. Altre immagini sono all’interno del piccolo diario che è presente per ogni profumo. Considero il racconto delle immagini come ogni materiale grafico importante quanto la storia e il profumo stesso, raccontano la stessa vita, lo stesso cammino, non riuscirei a pensarli distaccati o divisi a scomparti, tutto deve fluire nella poetica del profumo.«

Sfogliando le pagine del piccolo diario con le dita intrise di profumo, proseguiamo esplorando la collezione di Meo attraverso Odor 93. La fragranza racchiude un viaggio onirico composto da narciso e tuberosa, oltrepassando una foresta di betulle.
L’Oblìo invece racconta la fine di un viaggio nella vita di un uomo, alla ricerca della dimenticanza e della pace interiore trovata da Meo e Federica attraversando tutta la Cambogia.

Infine Little song. Al momento l’ultimo profumo del marchio, ma il primo del Ciclo della Metamorfosi, che immaginiamo debba ancora concludersi.

»Little song è un lavoro molto autobiografico e molto diverso da tutto quello che ho mai creato, se vuoi più intimo, come Narcotico.

Little song è la mia solitudine,
è lo spazio angusto,
è il tempo che non passa e il tempo che passa inesorabile,
è l’attesa di qualcosa che non arriverà mai più.

In questo profumo mi sono spinto oltre quello che pensavo d’esser in grado di poter fare, ho rischiato, ma adesso a qualche mese dall’uscita sono felice d’aver fatto determinate scelte, le rifarei tutte. Ripasserei ancora quelle lunghe notti insonne a pensare alla formula.
Little song apre il nuovo ciclo della metamorfosi che si chiuderà con un altro capitolo, naturalmente tutto è già nella mia testa, nei miei pensieri.
Subito dopo la sua uscita ho iniziato a lavorare a qualcosa di nuovo. Durante i cicli composti sempre da due profumi, cerco di non perdere il tempo e il filo del discorso iniziato – una sorta di apnea mentale,

adesso sono lì, nella mia metamorfosi e la voglio vivere tutta, senza perdere nessun frammento.

Il primo capitolo è andato … adesso aspettiamo la chiusura, in metamorfosi.«

Inebriante.
Mistico.

We continue our journey through the Mystic Trilogy, in my opinion the most complex and rich so far, which contains Narcotico, Odor 93 and L’oblìo.

We talk for a long time especially about Narcotico, because it is the scent, a set of smells, which represents an important step in my life and probably also in that of Meo.

»When I tell our story and that of every fragrance of our collection, as soon as I arrive in Narcotico there is always a moment of silence inside me, which has perhaps caught a nerve in this story, along with Notturno and Little song.
Narcotic was fundamental, because as the first chapter of a new trilogy it was a very deep and very difficult to understand and to bring to light.
Its intensity tells it, the raw materials I have chosen for this work not only tell the mystical visions of our religious culture but contain all of them, like a Tower of Babel of sacred smells, it is the visceral thrill of rediscovering dormant memories and deeper than our everyday life. A perfume born from my love for Pasolini and Antonello da Messina, from my return to Palermo, in my Sicily. A perfume full of continuous contrasts, between very hard notes and more caressing notes.

I always say that the perfumes, the raw materials, the smells find my way, the trips help me to understand,

sometimes to observe the raw material in its “life”, in its real nature, the journey is the foundation of this path.”

Meo’s research work goes beyond mere fragrance – it’s the perfect balance between poetry, profound study, raw materials of the highest quality, maximum professionalism and soul.
Everything is taken care of in the smallest details, like the packaging and the little booklet that secretly accompanies each creation explaining its history.

»The Meo Fusciuni project is composed of two souls, mine and that of Federica Castellani, art director of the project and curator of the entire aesthetic and visual expression of our work. All of the packaging everything is developed by her, in the meantime I work with the fragrance and at the end the tracks join. The choice of the photos on the packages, which are often made by Federica is very important, because they express the concept and the poetics of the perfume. Other images are inside the small diary that is present for each perfume. I consider the story told by the images, as with any graphic material, as important as the story and the perfume itself, they tell of the same life, the same path, I would not be able to think of them as detached or divided into compartments, everything must flow into the poetics of perfume. «

We continue with Odor 93, enclosed in a dreamlike journey composed of narcissus and tuberose, passing through a birch forest.
L’Oblìo on te other hand tells the end of a journey in the life of a man, in search of forgetfulness and the inner peace found by Meo and Federica as they travelled across Cambodia.

Finally Little song. At the moment the last fragrance of the brand, but the first of the Cycle of Metamorphosis, which we imagine has yet to be completed.

»Little song is a very autobiographical work and very different from anything I’ve ever created, if you like, it is more intimate, like Narcotico.

Little song is my loneliness,
it is the narrow space,
it is the time that does not pass and the time that passes inexorably,
is the expectation of something that will never come again.

In this perfume I pushed myself beyond what I thought I could do, I took risks, but now a few months after completion I’m happy to have made certain choices, I would do all of them again. I would still go through those long sleepless nights thinking about the formula.
Little song opens the new cycle of metamorphosis that will end with another chapter, of course everything is already in my head, in my thoughts.
Immediately after its release I started working on something new. During the cycles which are always composed of two perfumes, I try not to lose time and the thread of the discourse that has begun a sort of mental apnea,

now I’m there, in my metamorphosis and I want to live it all, without losing any fragment.

The first chapter is ended … now we wait for the closure, in metamorphosis. «
