Al primo sguardo è l’intensità che la circonda a rapire. Un insieme che si direbbe frutto di mescolanze tipiche delle città di mare, dove non ha caso è nata. Su tutto un carattere denso fatto di grazia, gusti molto ben definiti, tenacia e una superlativa capacità creativa in cui le idee anche più banali diventano veri capolavori da esplorare.

Un incontro, il nostro, risalente al 2016. Ieri in termini di tempo, un’eternità a guardare la quantità di progetti, idee, visioni che hanno preso corpo da allora (Ironically Iconic, Light Blowing, Designed to Restore e molti altri in fase di brainstorming o etichettatili come “under construction”).

Laureata in filosofia, estimatrice sincera delle infinite espressioni del mondo craft, è a questi due punti cardinali che Ilaria deve la sua estetica, ricca di rimandi a culture lontane e meticcia, come solo lei sa essere.

A/dornment, il progetto curatoriale integrato che la vede nel ruolo di fondatrice e curatrice, è forse quello che le corrisponde di più. Al centro della ricerca il gioiello contemporaneo, indagato, raccontato, esibito incrociando geografie, tecniche, gradi di sperimentazione molto diversi tra loro ma finalizzati a presentare il gioiello in quanto arte da indossare.

Non a caso il sottotitolo di una mostra di qualche anno fa recitava Wearable Art. Un concetto che muove verso un territorio preciso che fa del gioiello contemporaneo una disciplina artistica in cui convergono tecnica, estetica e filosofia. Sfidando talvolta le leggi della fisica e della praticità, il gioiello per Ilaria è caratterizzante, comunicativo, straniante. È profondamente identitario.

la nostra eterna imperfezione

D’altronde A/dornment ha scelto una negazione per presentarsi al pubblico. Una A privativa per negare l’ornamento fine a se stesso, l’abbellimento vacuo, la bellezza e decorazione privi di significato.

… e non sarà un caso se AtemporaryStudio nasce dalla stessa A privativa.

At a first glance is the intensity that surrounds her that is to be captured. A whole that could be seen as the result of mixtures typical of seaside towns, where she was born. Over all a dense character made of grace, very well-defined tastes, tenacity and a superlative creative ability to turn even the most common ideas into true masterpieces to explore.

A meeting, ours, dating back to 2016. Yesterday in terms of time, an eternity when considering the amount of projects, ideas, visions that have taken shape since then (Ironically Iconic, Light Blowing, Designed to Restore and many others in the brainstorming phase or to be labeled as “under construction”).

Graduated in philosophy, sincere admirer of the infinite expressions of the craft world, it is to these two cardinal points that Ilaria owes her aesthetics, full of references to distant cultures and “meticcio”, as only she can be.

A/dornment, the integrated curatorial project she founded and curates, is perhaps the one that corresponds most closely to her personality. At the centre of the research is contemporary jewellery: investigated, reconstructed, exhibited by crossing geographies, techniques, different levels of experimentation aimed at presenting the jewel as wearable art.

It is no coincidence that the subtitle of an exhibition of a few years ago was Wearable Art. A concept that moves towards a specific territory that makes contemporary jewellery an artistic discipline in which technology, aesthetics and philosophy converge.

At times defying the laws of physics and practicality, the jewel for Ilaria is characterizing, communicative, alienating. It is deeply rooted in one own’s identity.

Art is the constant effort to compensate for our eternal imperfection

On the other hand A/dornment has chosen a negation to present itself to the public. A separate A to negate the pure ornament, empty embellishment, meaningless beauty and decoration.

… and it will not be a coincidence if AtemporaryStudio is born from the same separate A.
